Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit has commenced and is due to be completed 2017, and plans to extend the neonatal unit are underway.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Sister at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust on Ward 20B Elective General Surgery at 34.5 hours per week
Ward 20B is currently established within the Division of Surgery. The Ward is a 24 bedded general surgery, Colorectal, ENT and Urology speciality admission ward.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Matron to develop services within the Care Group and be provided the opportunity to manage an exciting and busy ward. The post holder will support the Senior Sister and Nursing Team. They will support Senior Sister managing the ward resources within the financial ward budget.
The post holder will help develop general surgery services, ensuring key standards of care and patient safety are maintained at all times. We are always looking forward and willing to try new ways of working which are beneficial to all.
The post holder will use current research develop care standards on the ward and where necessary help to change Trust policy and procedures to reflect current national initiatives.
Applicants will be an excellent communicator, able to manage a large team under pressure with excellent organisational and time management skills to meet competing priorities
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
