Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit has commenced and is due to be completed 2017, and plans to extend the neonatal unit are underway.

We provide high quality, friendly and effective community health services from multiple sites covering Walsall. Our multidisciplinary services include rapid response and homebased care, so that those with long term conditions and the frail elderly can remain in their own homes.

Band 6 

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Nurse Advisor to join our Safeguarding Children’s Team. The team are currently based at Blakenall Village Centre in Walsall, operating across services for our integrated Acute and Community Trust.

This new role is a unique opportunity for those with clinical experience of safeguarding with children & their families to step into a specialist role that incorporates all work streams of safeguarding within the Children’s remit, as well as actively contributing to the multi-agency agenda by representing the Trust within the Multi Agency Screening Hub alongside Children’s Services in our co- location within the Civic Centre, Walsall. In order to work within the MASH ‘fire – walled’ area the post holder will require Non- Police personnel vetting (level 2) and enhanced DBS clearance. The role also requires a high level of competency in the use of IT systems.

We ask that you bring flexibility and motivation, with a forward-thinking approach and we in turn can offer the opportunity to work within a developing team containing supportive and committed individuals, who are dedicated to improving outcomes for vulnerable children

The post holder will receive a comprehensive induction programme to ensure support is in place to achieve competencies with the processes and practices of the Safeguarding Team.
