Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit has commenced and is due to be completed 2017, and plans to extend the neonatal unit are underway.

We provide high quality, friendly and effective community health services from multiple sites covering Walsall. Our multidisciplinary services include rapid response and homebased care, so that those with long term conditions and the frail elderly can remain in their own homes.

We are seeking to appoint chaplains to join our emergency on-call bank.

In this role, you will be asked to provide pastoral, spiritual and religious support to our patients and their visitors during times of crisis and special need. You will have a compassionate and caring nature and excellent communication skills. Previous experience of supporting people in emotionally demanding situations is also essential. Experience of working within the NHS would also be an advantage.

You will be able to respond at short notice to call outs and be able to work closely with staff in caring for those belonging to the Muslim/Sikh/Hindu/Christian Orthodox tradition.

Your work will be based at the Manor Hospital and Palliative Care Centre, Walsall.  Payment will be made for the time worked.
